Ocean Village holiday flights

Ocean Village has made special arrangements with some of the UK’s leading charter airlines to provide flights to Barbados, Majorca and Crete.

The following flight information represents our intentions at time of going to press but are subject to change. All flight details will be confirmed around 2-3 weeks before departure. The flight supplements stated are per person and apply to flights departing from the UK on/between the dates specified.

Parking facilities are available at all of our featured regional airports. Details will be sent with your information pack around 8-10 weeks before departure.

Please note All flight times given are approximate and are subject to change.  Ocean Village has no control over changes airlines may make to flight times but will inform you of any changes.  

Flights to Barbados (Winter 2009/2010)

Most flights will leave the UK in the morning to arrive in Barbados in the afternoon (local time).  Homeward flights will leave Barbados in the late afternoon/early evening (local time) to arrive back in the UK early the following morning.

Flights to Majorca (Summer 2010)

Most flights will leave the UK between 6am-1pm to arrive in Majorca (at Palma) between 9am-6pm (local time). Return flights will leave Palma between 10am-7pm (local time) and arrive back in the UK between 11am-9pm.

Flights to Crete (Summer 2010)

Flights will leave the UK between 6am-3pm to arrive in Crete (at Heraklion) between 12 noon-9pm (local time). Return flights will leave Heraklion between 1pm-10pm (local time) and arrive back in the UK between 3pm-midnight.

General Information

  • Airlines reserve the right to refuse travel on medical grounds. You must notify us of any medical conditions or other requirements for airport assistance or special arrangements on your flight.
    You may be required to provide additional information to the airline in order that they can assess your fitness to fly. Please note that several airlines are unable to carry passengers who require oxygen during part or all of the flight. Those airlines that do carry passengers who require oxygen, require advance arrangements to be made at additional cost.
  • Any special dietary, mobility or medical requirements must be requested at the time of booking and at least seven days prior to travel (this includes child meal requests). All requests will be forwarded to the airline but we cannot guarantee that these requests can be met.
  • The baggage allowance on all flights is 23kg per person for checked luggage. If combining your belongings with someone else in your group, please note that individual items must not exceed 23kg.
  • Each person is allowed one piece of hand baggage, with guideline dimensions of 43x28x23cm (17x11x9 inches) in size and 5kg in weight, which must fit in an overhead locker or under the seat in front of the passenger. Restrictions on items that can be carried in hand luggage may apply – please check the Department for Transport website (www.dft.gov.uk) for details.
  • Please ensure that you add your cabin number to the luggage tags supplied, and that they are attached to your luggage prior to UK airport check in.
  • Flights must leave from/return to the same UK airport.
  • We are unable to offer scheduled flight alternatives.
  • All flights are subject to availability and non-smoking.
  • Only fully fit and mobile passengers may occupy exit row seats. These seats may therefore only ever be assigned at the discretion of the airline at check-in.
  • Due to passenger numbers and aircraftconfigurations it is not always possible to seat people together.
  • Passengers will be responsible for checking-in, identifying and collecting their bags during their journey where appropriate.
  • For operational reasons, we cannot guarantee that all flights will be direct or non-stop.
  • All flight times are subject to change. Ocean Village has no control over changes airlines may make to flight times but will inform you of any changes.
  • Passengers who choose to travel independently to/from the ship must inform us prior to travelling that they will not be using Ocean Village flights.
  • Passengers who choose to travel independently to/from the ship, and those who book a ‘Cruise Only’ holiday to/from Majorca (see page 88 of the main holiday brochure for details), do so at their own risk and are responsible for making their own travel/transfer arrangements to/from the ship in time for embarkation/ disembarkation.

Alterations

If you wish to alter your air booking you will incur an administration fee of up to £50 per booking plus any costs that the airline may impose. Any changes are at the discretion of Ocean Village and are subject to availability.

Aviation Security and Insurance Levy

We have allowed for the extra security and insurance charges currently imposed by airlines on their passengers in the price of your holiday. However, we have no control over future increases in these charges and reserve the right to add a surcharge, in accordance with our booking conditions, should they rise beyond current levels.
