Transfers
When you arrive at Barbados, Palma or Heraklion airport and have collected your luggage, you’ll pass through Customs and will be met by your Ocean Village representative, who will direct you to waiting coaches for the transfer to your hotel. In order to provide the highest level of service at the airport and your accommodation there may not be a representative travelling with you on the coach.

Ocean Village representatives
A representative will be available at your hotel during your stay to make sure that your holiday goes smoothly. They will also provide details of the Ocean Village ‘Action Ashore’ activities that are available and can also book hire cars for you.

Local charges
Please be aware that the use of some facilities in your hotel or resort may incur extra local charges (such as sunbeds, sunbed mattresses, beach towels and umbrellas, sports facilities and watersports) for which you will need to pay locally. Beach towels may not be supplied by all hotels, or they may be available on payment of a deposit.

Facilities
- You may be required to collect and carry your own luggage on arrival/departure at the hotel.
- Tea and coffee making facilities are not available in hotel rooms in Majorca, and in Barbados and Crete availability varies by hotel (see the hotel descriptions for details).
- Any air conditioning or central heating provided may only operate at certain times of the day or year at the discretion of the hotel.
- Where specified, children’s clubs and facilities are operated independently by the hotel and not by Ocean Village.
- While our hoteliers and suppliers should meet local and national health and safety standards, please note that these standards do not always match those that we enjoy in the UK.
- Please note that the bed configuration requested at time of booking will be forwarded to the hotel but we cannot guarantee that these requests can be met.
- During early and late season holidays the hotel and resort facilities available may vary from that stated. Also please be aware that local festivals may be held in some resorts. Although such circumstances are beyond our control we will do everything we can to minimise the impact on your holiday. Please note that some of the hotels used by Ocean Village may have an international clientele.

Hotel star ratings
The star rating given to each hotel is intended as a general guide to the overall quality of the property relative to standards within that country. This is based on the official rating given by the authorities in the country concerned and the views (at the time of going to press) of senior managers in both the UK and overseas.

Ocean Village guest ratings
These ratings are an average based on questionnaires completed by Ocean Village guests, which rate the food, entertainment, staff, comfort, cleanliness and overall enjoyment of the hotel stay.

Building work
General refurbishment and development work is occasionally carried out at the hotels and resorts we use. Such work is required to maintain or improve standards and although it is not something we control, we will, if we are informed of work which will be occurring during your stay and which is likely to materially adversely affect it, endeavour to inform you of it as soon as possible. Building works in the general vicinity of your hotel may be carried out by independent third parties who are unconnected with the provision of the services forming part of your contract with us. It is not possible for us to monitor such works and we are unable to inform you of them in advance of your stay.

Mobility
Please note that none of our land stay hotels offer specific wheelchair access or facilities, and are therefore not suitable for passengers who use wheelchairs on a full-time or part-time basis. Further details are available on request.

Joining the ship
Towards the end of your stay you’ll be advised of arrangements for leaving the hotel and transferring to the ship. In most cases you’ll be asked to check -out (and settle the bill for any sundry items) by around 10am-12noon. You will then be taken to the port to check-in and start the second week of your holiday on board ship
