Western Med holidays: Monte Carlo

Emperors and Espresso

14 nights on the original Ocean Village

Want a great mix of fashionista haunts and medieval citadels?  Throbbing cities and ritzy beaches? Dramatic landscapes and designer outlets? Pack it all in (but only unpack once) as you set off on a holiday that's like a handful of city breaks all rolled into one - with as much full-on action or blissed-out relaxation as you want.

If you like the look of both cruise itineraries but can't decide between them - then why not do both on a 14 night holiday? You'll keep the same cabin and you'll have a day to explore Palma before setting sail on the second week of your cruise - ready to take in the sights and sounds of all our Mediterranean ports.

In your first week, sip mint tea between bouts of bargaining in Tunis, and hike up Mount Vesuvius on the Bay of Naples or explore Pompeii, the city it engulfed in AD 79. Get your fill of Florence's fine art at the Uffizi Gallery, go billionaire-spotting in swanky Monte Carlo or try river-rafting in the mountains. The last stop is in Corsica, the island with a Napoleon complex and plenty of monuments to its favourite son

Then spend another 7 days exploring the exotic souks of Tunis then hit the ‘Eternal City' of Rome, packing in the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain between cappuccino stops. Explore Genoa’s medieval lanes, go for retail therapy in Milan or opt for a waterfront lunch in picturesque Portofino. Join the in-crowd on the Cote d'Azur and the lovers of Gaudi's wacky architecture in buzzing Barcelona before returning to Majorca.
